Challenge #15
Bullet time! Do you know what that is? In The Matrix, they used a technique called bullet time as a special effect - when a bullet was fired, time was slowed to a crawl as it traveled and the camera moved around to show what was happening during that fraction of a second. Bullet time builds dramatic tension.
Write a scene in bullet time. Choose an event (either original or from an episode or fanfic) lasting no more than five seconds and slow down the time by describing things in minute detail.
An example, of Tom punching Bob in the stomach: “Bob doubled over, curling around the fist, his eyes bulging wide. His legs trembled and gave way; he slumped to his knees, the glass in his hand falling from his limp fingers to smash on the pavement into a thousand glittering fragments.”
That’s all it takes - three seconds stretched out by words, just one paragraph.
Some possible scenes you can do. Note that you can make up the details - it doesn’t have to match what was shown on screen:

- The Doctor getting shot by the Dalek in “The Stolen Earth”
- Amy and Rory jumping off the building in “The Daleks Take Manhattan” (the scene itself slows down to help you)
- The moment the Doctor disappears and drops the detonator and Luke Rattigan appears and catches the detonator in the teleportation chamber in the Sontaran ship, in “The Poison Sky”
- Rose falling from the barrage balloon tether in "The Empty Child"
