Fill - Challenge 218 (DW)
(Having a little fun with this one)
Tegan frowned, looking down at the odd shade of green ( seafoam, apparently, according to the Doctor) colored vines that were currently snaking around her. " I didn't think this would happen" she moaned. "How was I supposed to know tipping that giant flower over would cause these things to trap us?" She glanced sideways at the Doctor who was almost completely enveloped in green.
" He did try to warn you, Tegan" Nyssa pointed out. She was currently scanning the computer's database to find some semblance of a cure.
The Doctor tried to move. " These species are normally dormant, Tegan. " He pointed out. " But they registered... the chemicals in that flower as an attack!" He was trying to break through with his teeth but it wasn't successful. " I do wish I still had my sonic screwdriver."
"Can you save the lesson for when we're free?" Tegan asked, irritated.
A few moments later, Nyssa hopped down from her chair. " I've found something! " she exclaimed. " There's a way to get them to release. " She pointed to a few diagrams on the screen. "They can be provoked by a sudden spark of energy. "
If Tegan's feet were free, she would've cheered in relief. Sadly, she had most of one hand at the moment. "Great! So what do we have to do?"
Nyssa paused, pointing to one entry. "It's a ... particular sort of energy. " She looked at both friends earnestly. "And... I don't think you're especially going to like the idea. " Stepping closer, she whispered in Tegan's ear, then did the same for the Doctor.
Tegan's mouth was agape. "NO! You can't be serious!"
The Doctor coughed. " I'm afraid it might be our only option, Tegan."
