Fill (sort of)- Challenge 339 (DW BFA)
I do plan to continue the Eight/Charley thing. And definitely fix a lot of the inaccuracies I had.
I’m learning a lot about this time period! (Some of it a little odd)
But here’s some notes and ideas for where I want this story to go…
Fix the beginning and take out the P&P quote. On a tangential note I am getting that one Manga Classics version off of Amazon. I have a gift card I got for Christmas. And might also look for other work ( though maybe not in manga form) by the same author
Work on Charley’s behavior since thinking about it now, you are right. Based on what I know now she really does seem improper.
Expand a little on what I was going to do with Eight. And work on his backstory.
For now, I am leaving C’rizz out. Mostly because I am not sure how he would fit. In the audios, he’s a monk. But… also he is literally a giant chameleon. (And he does change colors more than once).
After their initial meeting at the ball, Eight and Charley don’t see each other again for a day or so . Until she is out for a walk ( since I learned that was one of the few things besides riding or dancing women did as recreation. They apparently were told to not exert themselves. :P )
Something happens to her, nothing lethal but her gown gets caught or something
Eight happens to be riding by the area and helps her. Side note: In this case, I am spelling TARDIS as “Tardis” since here it’s his horse. With a blue saddle or blanket on it.
They ride together and get to know each other better.. Charley after a while calls him one of the oddest men she has ever met ( a call back to Storm Warning) .
More time passes, more pining and eventually he attempts to propose to her…
However, at this point , the dream ends and Charley wakes up. Tells the Doctor about the dream and he goes all philosophical and science about it; trying to figure out why she had that particular dream when it’s just a case of “she was reading the book and fell asleep.” But Charley admits it was a wonderful dream.
