Fill- Challenge 431 (DW)
(Playing with the Genremixer and listening to "Time Reaver" :) . I got some fun prompts and some that baffle and astound me* . I picked "Ten/Donna- Zombie apocalypse and snowed in )
----
Donna crossed her arms, shivering. " It's freezing in here! You know, I'm not dressed for the Arctic."
The sounds of growling and scratching at the door gave her a pause. " Though it's better than them out there. Care to remind me again, Planet of the Hats became Planet of the Walking Dead?" She looked daggers at the Doctor.
The Doctor sighed, his eyes focused on something in the corner of the tiny kitchen. " Snow zombies" he said slowly. " Beings that thrive on the cold... made of snow and icicles. " He tapped the stove. " Wood stove. Bit primitive, but at least we'll be warm."
Donna ran over. " So what, do we just wait for them to melt or something? " She looked at the wood stove, which had a few small shards. " You're gonna sonic it, right."
The Doctor shook his head. " Doesn't work on wood."
"Figures. You really know how to pick places, sunshine." Donna leafed through an open cabinet. " All in tins." She threw one down on the table, checking for a date. " Ugh, 1997. Guess we won't be having baked beans. " Turning back to the cabinet, Donna reached in as far back as she could. " Tea bags, so there's that."
The Doctor joined her in rifling. " Any biscuits? I could murder a chocolate digestive right now."
Donna shook her head. " Not even Jaffa cake. So how long do these snow zombies of yours usually last,? I mean, when should we try and find the TARDIS?"
The growling at the door suddenly grew louder.
The Doctor looked out of one of the dirty windows; a herd of frozen creatures surrounding them on each side. "Right, Donna . It might be a long night."
<small> * The Genremixer seriously keeps suggesting "historical roleplay & obedience"
