Fill- Challenge 462 (DW/BFA)
(Right, okay. You know, I'm trying this again. Because I signed up and I'd prefer to not quit.
Here's the original----> https://archiveofourown.org/works/6987367 And I'm alternating between my radio and PatPP while I do this, since I need a reference for Peri's voice. :D )
"I'm dying" I said. Actually it was more like I groaned. I can't even remember the last time I'd felt this bad. Or even the last time I'd been sick- maybe when I was a kid? Bringing the stomach flu home from school? Even that doesn't compare to how I feel right now.
"Nonsense" the Doctor said, doing that look of his where he looks like a snooty cat. "Never heard such rampant piffle in my life."
It's so weird. Have you ever felt hot, then cold at once? Because at that moment my body couldn't decide if it was boiling over or freezing. And whatever this virus was, it was eating my strength. Making a meal of it like pudding. I closed my eyes, wanting to just cocoon myself. I gave the Doctor a Look. "Doctor, I want the truth."
"It is." He helped me lean up on the fur that was currently my pillow while I sat on the one that acted as my mattress. I felt something soft land on me- it was his coat! I could've said something right then, but as bad as I felt it was kind of reassuring. Something bright in the middle of a lot of browns and greys. Like this blanket my mom used to wrap me in when I was scared.
