Challenge #5

Write a scene where the Doctor and companion(s) are shopping on an alien world (a little shop, a shopping mall, a bazaar, a department store, etc.). The thing is, your scene must include at least one description of a thing that’s designed not for humans but for other alien species. For example, if the planet is populated with mer-folk, then the marketplace is a lake with wooden walkways built over the water so that land dwellers can shop as well as the merfolk can. Or maybe it’s a land bazaar, but the booths have water tanks that the mer-folk merchants (mer-chants?) can sit in.

Fill-Challenge 4

(should I apologize for the Trope-y ending or)

 "Beautiful, isn't it Nyssa?"

"You were right Doctor. I haven't seen anything like it."

" Nix-V, a planet completely made of snow, perfect for a bit of respite after- er..."

"Stockbridge. I still can't believe it happened."

"Yes, I can imagine. The place was like a second home for a while.  But now, what shall we do first?"

"What is there to do here? The snow must make the terrain impossible to manoeuvre."

"Well, there's a surprising amount of activity here on Nix-V , Nyssa. We could go sleighing ! Susan was rather fond of it when I brought her here. And then perhaps a hot chocolate?"

"That does sound lovely."

============

"Doctor, when you first mentioned this planet, giant hairy ravenous  rabbits weren't in your description."

"Ah- those weren't here the last time. We should be safe in this cave."

"Look what they're doing to the TARDIS!"

"Good grief, they've formed a battalion around it! And trying to gnaw through. Nyssa, we're in for a long night.  Here, take my coat."

"But won't you need it? It's rather cold in here."

"Hmm, fair point. Can't have both of us perishing.  Perhaps if we could…there!"

"Doctor , what are you doing?"

"Conserving our body heat. "
