Fill- Challenge 54 (DW)
(I have... mixed feelings about the Time War. I think it's a cool concept but haven't listened to everything about it, So have a bit of a thing during the Time War)
He'd tried to avoid it; tried to run, to flee from the War. This isn't what he wanted.
The TARDIS lands on a place called Talsel. It's as inconsequential as most parts of the universe. A perfect place for himself and his companion to relax. And they do- for a while.
The place is idyllic- green sky, blue grass, like something from a picture book. They take in all of the tranquility .
But across the galaxy there is another planet. There are millions more. The Doctor has tried to avoid the War. But some days, he sees why he can't. Talsel, and planets like it- succumbed to the destruction. Beauty erased with ash and flames, and he is too late to prevent any of it.
All those lives... he could've prevented it. But it's too late now. They can't be saved.
