Fill: Challenge #142

So, I did almost the exact opposite of what the challenge asked, because I was working on one of my WIPs. At least I got a little of that done. :)

Fill-Challenge 142 (I think?) (DW)

(When I saw this challenge, my brain immediately went to that support group part of PotD . Been listening to an Ace audio today so enjoy!)

Ace glanced around the room.  Some days it was easy to forget or just hard to grasp how many people had actually travelled with the Doctor. And some of  them were definitely unexpected: she was fairly sure she saw a penguin in one corner of the room! As the old man, Graham, finished his talk, it was her turn.

Taking a breath, she began.  "Well I don't exactly know how to start.  When I met the Doctor, I was a kid.  Had a baseball bat, boom box, and my own explosives. " She chuckled a bit at the memory.  "It was just us for a long time, but there was others...Mel and Hex and Raine.  We had loads of mad adventures.  I beat up a Dalek with a bat!"

At that, the group of assembled companions broke out in a mix of applause and a few bits of scattered laughter.

"It wasn't easy" Ace continued, "We had a lot of falling out. Things got...complicated. And it's taken me a long time and therapy to get past it all. But I won't say it wasn't incredible. Any of it. "

As Ace sat back down near Tegan, an older woman, Jo Jones, stood up, helped a little by her husband.

"I was so young then" Jo began. "But it was wonderful. All the places I got to see, things I never would have thought could happend to me. We went to this planet once called Peladon, where he sang a monster to sleep.  Or, there was all those times with the Master. And Axos. I found my husband thanks to one of our adventures in fact. My time with the Doctor taught me a lot. And now here I am, children and grandchildren. Still doing my part to save the world. Or at least the rainforests." Jo smiled at her husband before sitting back down.

Near the back of the room, a young couple- Martha and Mickey, were whispering a little.

"Looks like we're next, love" Mickey said.  "You want to go first?"

Martha shook her head. "No , you can do it."

Challenge 143*

*I'm thinking this is wrong.  Feel free to correct.

So this is kind of inspired by the Ushobwri group's post.  But  Tis the Season!

Write a scene of your characters being stuck somewhere due to bad weather.  How do they react? Can they leave or do they have to endure a trope/cliche and cuddle for warmth?
