Challenge #142

Today's challenge comes from an earlier converation with romanajo123.

Write a scene where three or more characters chat about something they're all familiar with, such as reminiscing about a past event or talking about a shared interest. This should be long enough that each character is able to speak at least twice. Thing is, make sure to pay attention to the personalities and histories of each character and how that affects how they react and what they say.

For example, if they're Argentinians talking about the World Cup championship match coming up on Sunday between France and Argentina, the optimist in the group should be going on about how wonderful Lionel Messi is while the pessimist in the group should be grumbling about how he's sure they're going to lose.

(Side note: Go Argentina! The company I work for is partnered with an Argentinian company, so I'm cheering them on.)

 (Not exactly emulating if you know what Jackson's deal is. But been thinking about this ep lately.  Looking up the transcript, gonna do an actual rewatch soon)

(a bit intorospective) 

Caroline... Caroline is gone.  Killed by those metal creatures. 

 

He doesn't know how to feel...what to tell their son now.  He's just a boy. 

 

There's more of them, they keep coming- like an invading army.  Growing more and more by the day.  But what to do? 

 

Now his son is gone too.  At least, that he can remember...it's getting harder now to remember.  

His thoughts are elsewhere these days, almost as if he's not himself anymore. 

 

This thing...these images of this remarkable man.  Something in his head seems to recognize it.  Yes! That's who he is.  No longer Jackson Lake. Jackson Lake could do nothing. He's the Doctor now; the one who fights the Cybermen. The one, the only, the best. Now he knows what he has to do... to avenge his wife and son.
