( Apologies if it's not the best.   I used the example)

He's called the Master. The first thing Tegan notices is his smugness.  There's something about him...that beard or that attitude.  Or probably a combination of things. Either way,  she senses something about him she can't trust.  That business with her aunt confirms every suspicion- he's truly dangerous.

Nyssa recognizes him, all too well.  She can't forget what he did- and seeing his face again is only a haunting reminder. She holds that desire for revenge deep, but can never bring herself to act upon it,  He's ruthless, destroying whole civilizations. But acting would mean losing the only part of her father she has left.

Select two characters and have them react to something, but in two different ways that illustrate the differences in their personalities and/or backgrounds. You can do this separately (two different scenes) or together (both characters encountering the thing together). As an example, if Tegan encountered the Ainsley!Master, she would be distrustful but also might be aggressive/sarcastic, because that's just Tegan, but if it were Nyssa, who normally meets villains with calm logic, she might be uncharacteristically angry because of her history with him.
