Here's an imagination challenge. Write a couple of paragraphs of an argument between two inanimate objects. They shouldn't be people- or animal-shaped, like dolls or actions figures - basically nothing that normally could be imagined to be arguing normally. Also, they shouldn't be established characters, so not the teacups from "Beauty and the Beast".
Imagine what they're arguing about, and how they'd express themselves - words, accents, limited worldview, etc. Maybe they (or the prose) might use puns, like the metal scissors staring the wooden ruler down with its steely gaze.
