If anyone had told Martha Jones on her first day at the Royal Hope hospital she'd be spending her days in Pre-WWI, she might've thought they were pulling her leg. But here she was, on day...fourteen? ten? It was hard to count anymore. Each day was the same lately: when she wasn't bringing tea or organizing papers for the Doctor...sorry, John Smith, she was cleaning up after dozens of boys who seemed to lie in wait for her to spill something just to get a laugh.

One could say Martha had nothing which to look forward. Just another day. But she knew what was coming: if she remembered her history class right, next year would bring with it a great war and turmoil . That was definitely a reason to look forward- not that she could tell anyone of course. And there was another: she knew this time would be over soon, hopefully the Doctor could be himself again. But unbeknowst to anyone else: not John, Joan Redfern, or any other maid, Martha had a secret. She had a little memento from home- a bit of tech that wouldn't be even dreamt of for decades. Yes, buried in her things was a phone. And on that phone were pictures- memories of times with her friends and family. In a way, it was looking backward and forward at the same time.

But now , they're here: The Mother, Daughter, Sister, all have shown themselves. But the question is..where to look now? Forwards in hopes the Doctor can return and do his thing, or backwards to hope that he'll still care about her enough to want to?
