I was inspired last night! Also, I figured this would be an example of what I was trying to describe for this challenge.
----------
“Now take me shopping, big boy!”
Martha recoiled from Annalise’s tinny screech as the call cut off, and she stared in bemused disbelief at her flip phone, a common reaction to the blonde’s antics. Her father must be having a mid-life cataclysm to make the breezy div even the least bit attractive to him. She clapped the phone closed and leant into jogging the last block to the hospital to prevent a tardy arrival when a tall man dashed up, blocking her path, and she leapt back a step to avoid a collision.
“Like this!” he exclaimed, making a show of pulling off his tie, leaving the collar of his shirt standing tall like his mess of brown hair. He held up the knotted loop, displaying it like a prize fish he’d just caught. “See?” Before she could reply, he sprinted off, his long coat flaring behind him.
Martha stood there for a beat, smiling in confusion only because she couldn’t think of any other response. The nutters were out on Chancellor Street today, apparently.
