Challenge 62

Write a scene of your character(s)  taking that first step in a new experience.  It could be their first day in a new place or It could even be onto a new planet!  Are the characters nervous, excited, or both?

 (I liked the idea with the alien and the stuffed animal)

Aquin extended one of her long blue hands toward the small item.  She was meant to be finding a souvenir for the young princess, and this looked rather intriguing.  It was a green and yellow...creature of some sort.  Its limbs were pointed at the fingers and toes, and its face seemed to be permanently frozen in an expression of pure joy.   A small tag clipped to the base of it declared it "Frog".  Aquin picked up the creature slowly,  her green and red locks of hair wrapping around it.  It felt...strangely comforting: its skin made of some sort of soft material.  She supposed this would make an excellent souvenir,  but at the moment,  to her surprise, she didn't want to put the creature down and kept hugging it close. This "Frog" wasn't a word she recognized in her language,  but it seemed to bring great comfort.
