Okay, so, I didn't actually get any readable words down on virtual paper, but I'm counting this as a fill anyway. My husband told me about a dream he had on Thursday night, and we've been constantly discussing it to turn it into a DW episode-style story. I have about three pages of notes on it now - it has morphed significantly since the original dream though the major plot points have stayed intact - and I've begun an outline.

So, it's not technically writing, but writing fiction isn't only getting words out, so I'm counting this as my ten minutes a day. I don't have any words to share, so here's a stab at a story summary: "The Doctor and (companion, probably Martha) land on a planet which suffered an unexplained catastrophe decades earlier which left a wide swathe of wasteland and gave the people living there strange powers. They aid a pair of travellers from a city outside the wasteland on their quest - to delve deep into the barrens to find the one who can make the hydras sing."

Things to note: Yurrein Nelendor and Torrick Mawshinor (he has a full name now!), Torrick is Yurrein's first cousin. The Lunaisans hybrids follow their last names on their mother's side so either their fathers were brothers or it was brother/sister since their last names aren't the same, still fuzzy on that part.

Yurrein pesters Torrick in the middle of the night in 1,164 words )

In other news finished my run-through and printed myself some fresh copy, 176 pages in the novel now! Very proud of myself. I may see this thing finished yet.

Wow it's hot here! 96 is the high, though it's going to cool for the rest of the week, down to 80 by the weekend. Write two paragraphs where your characters are experiencing extreme weather - hot weather, a rainstorm, a blizzard, whatever you like. Focus on describing the characters themselves and their actions to convey the situation - "her hair whipped into her face, stinging her cheek", "he pulled his coat snug around himself but the water trickled in through every seam", "the blouse plastered to her skin by sweat", etc. Try to avoid using the actual words for temperature and weather - hot, cold, freezing, snow, rain, etc.

So for some reason, I seem to be mainly doing drabbles lately.  (Though admittedly it's fun and a bit of a challenge).

So this weekend, I did this bit of Crossover with a team-up that I think could work.

And then this happened,,, sparked from a random conversation with @lurking_latinist.
