He reached out to calm her down with a pat on her shoulder and she grabbed his wrist. Catching him off-guard, she twisted his arm hard, forcing him into a spin as she jerked it up behind his back. His grunt of pain from the fire in his shoulder became an agonised cry as she stamped hard on his knee. His leg collapsed under him and he fell. As he trembled, curled on the floor and gasping against the pain, she sneered at him one last time and whirled, stomping out of the room and down the stairs.
