Charley sighed, running to try and catch the lift door before it closed. But it was too late.
"No, wait-!" She cried, trying again but to no avail as the lights flickered and popped out in the small room.
" Doctor," she began, trying to not let a bit of panic slip in, "I don't suppose you have a torch or something? Or perhaps, a way to pry open the door?"
The Doctor patted the pockets of his blue coat. "As it happens, Charlotte, I left them in the TARDIS. So I suppose we're stuck in here. "
"For how long?" Charley asked, feeling around the walls of the lift.
The Doctor had to think. "Oh, could be hours , days... you know, I was once in a similar predicament once with Francis Drake. " He recalled.
"Was that before or after you played tiddlywinks with the czarina?" Charley asked, smiling a little. So this one was a name dropper as well!
" After what?" The Doctor asked, causing Charley to cover her mouth in embarasment,
"Oh nothing!" Charley replied, trying to shake off that little slip.
"Ah, all right , Charlotte. Anyway as I was saying, I met Francis Drake in a tavern once. Rather interesting man, and there was this one particularly notable incident where we were trapped in a labyrinth and..."
Charley rolled her eyes. There was one thing she'd noticed about this Doctor: he might even be more talkative than hers was! Silently, she began counting the minutes till they were free as he continued on.
