 (Fun fact-  Somehow I missed the actual challenge post until now.  Oops! I do plan to do it.  So for now have another dw100 post. Because apparently drabbles are kind of addicting) 

Prompt was "drift" Based on an exchange at the end of Dragonfire. 

"Doctor, what is that?" Charley asked, pointing to the odd thing on the scanner. She knew what it looked like, but wanted his confirmation.

 

"That," the Doctor began, his face lighting up with a rather amused grin. "Is a bottle, Charley." 

 

"Well I figured that" she replied, " But what's a bottle doing out in space? Just sort of drifting?" 

 

Retrieving and opening the bottle, the Doctor's amused, almost boyish expression returned.  " I can't believe it!" He exclaimed, setting it down. "She actually did it!" 

 

"Did what?" Now Charley was more than a little confused. 

 

"Mel. She threw a bottle into space!"

 Write a scene ( paragraph or so ) where your characters are seperated.  It can be distance,  language, etc.  Just something seperating them.  How do they deal with it? Can they still speak to each other?
