Having a bit of fun with what little I know about the upcoming 60th anniversary episode. I've only seen the original trailer and otherwise been avoiding all news and spoilers, so I don't know much.

Challenge 203

 For this challenge,  write a scene of someone's first experience with a new place.  It could be moving to a new house, or walking on a new planet. Is he or she anxious or excited? And what are the thoughts about the new surroundings?

 I'm using the example of a queen.  


It was mid- morning at the palace. The staff had just finished cleaning up the breakfast things and the queen was relaxing a little on a floating chair in the royal pond.  

"Will you join me, my love?" she asked the king as he watched her from a nearby chair. 

"Perhaps later. " He assured, blowing her a little kiss.  " For now, I am simply enjoying the peace and quiet. It's refreshing to have a day free from  an endless itenerary of meetings and royal duties for once." 

The queen let out a content sigh in agreement,  her eyes half closed.  

It wasn't a moment later,  one of the little maids came running over to them both: a piece of paper in her hand and look of sheer horror on her face. "Madam? Sir? I believe you should take a look at this."  

The king took the paper,  reading it carefully.  His face practically turned red once he was done.  "Unbelievable!" He exclaimed.  " The West kingdom has fallen.  The ogres are planning to attack us next."  He looked to his wife.  "I suppose our time of peace is over."  

Nearly falling off the lounge chair,  the queen  ran to her husband's side.   " It would appear so.  War has finally come to us?"  

The king nodded ,  his expression grave. 

" Then let us begin to make a plan. "  She headed back into the palace.   "Call in the knights and our best  guards and everyone" she frantically told the maid.
