( Was listening to Memory Lane earlier today - one of my favorite 8/Charley/C'rizz audios. So ... )
Charley straightened the wrinkled bits of her gown, giving herself one last look in the mirror. " So whose wedding are we attending again, Doctor?"
"Susan" the Doctor clarified. "Susan Foreman- well, Campbell I suppose now. My granddaughter. I just hope we're not too late."
"And that's supposed to be significant to us?" C'rizz asked, his skin seamlessly blending in to match the dark blue of his suit.
"Oh come on, C'rizz" Charley said, " Be at least a little excited. I haven't been to a wedding in ages. Well not a normal one."
C'rizz still looked uncertain. " As long as your universe's weddings aren't like mine, I suppose I can tolerate it ."
And on that note, the three travellers headed inside the small chapel.
----
He's late, thought Susan as she prepared for her vows. Late or he's missed the whole thing . She looked down at her handmade white dress and David's reassuring glance . It's not as if they could wait much longer.
As the ceremony ended , cheers and congratulatory words to the new couple flooded the room , but Susan looked again. Her grandfather still wasn't there. She knew it, he was late. Or he'd chosen not to attend due to some disaster. But as she looked away from the cake and champane , her eyes fixed on a corner of the room. A corner where a man in a green jacket, a short blonde woman, and a... chameleon had slipped in. Susan beamed, running over to them and nearly dropping her bit of cake. So he did make it.
