I do apologize if there are anachronisms :P)
Caroline stormed out of the room, barely caring if her gown got dirty as she began the trek home. Her thoughts were racing: how dare he? And not long until the day they were meant to be married?
What would everyone think? She could already feel the the stares and hear the gossipy whispers of her friends and family if she ended the marriage. But what other choice did she have?
Hours passed, her thoughts only growing blacker as , now home, she searched near endless for a pen and paper . It was truly best to end this now, and if she had to, might as well get a start.
About halfway through ,Caroline frowned. What was she doing? Something had to change.
She recalled a conversation she'd had over tea with a friend.
" He is an utter rogue, a rake!" her friend had complained. " Every night I've heard tales. Braden at the pub, one hand on his drink, the other on the shoulders of the bar maid! Quite unbelievable!"
Caroline hadn't given much thought to her fiend's remarks then, just saw it as idle gossip. Though now, the seeds of an idea began to form... if anyone could educate her in matters of the heart, the rake might be just who she needed.
