The TARDIS' loud metal screeching echoed through the grassy fields as it materialized. Doors now open, a skinny man with spiked-up hair and a redheaded woman stepped on, their feet squishing a bit into the planet surface.
"So where are we, then?" the woman, Donna, asked.
"Karmis-III! " the Doctor announced, a bit enthusiastically. "Whole planet is one massive forest. Living trees!"
"What, like they move around? Or throw things like in Wizard of Oz?" Donna asked, then noticing her shoe currently stuck in the grass. "Ugh! It's like walking in jelly!"
The Doctor looked down. "Well, sort of. The grass is more like... compote. Kind of sticky. But more or less harmless. "
Tell that to my shoes, Donna thought as they walked on. A bit further, something caught her eye. "Is that tree purple?"
The Doctor looked. "Native species here, Most of the trees are colourful. " He sniffed the air. "And it's a bit-"
The Doctor froze; his face paling and he began to cough rather harshly.
"You all right, spaceman?" Donna asked. It was a rare thing for him to be sick.
"The tree!" he exclaimed, between coughs, "Wasn't like this before; but it's emitting..."
He collapsed onto the goo grass.
"Emitting what? " Donna asked frantically, "This some kind of space allergy? What do I need to do?"
