By total coincidence, mine's also from "Human Nature"/ "Family of Blood"!

Mr Smith droned on as he wandered into his book room searching for Mafeking. "And I know why. Keeping your head low avoids the mockery of your classmates. But no man should hide himself, don't you think?"

"Yes, sir," Tim replied absently, glancing around the room in boredom. Something glimmered in the back of his mind, like a tiny flame amongst the trees in a thick forest, and his gaze snapped to a worn gray pocketwatch on the mantle of the fireplace. As the teacher expounded on his student's cleverness, Tim stepped over and picked it up.

Whispers, distant words barely recognisable, burst into his head the moment his fingers touched the cold metal. Time Lord, hide yourself! He flipped the watch over and examined the intricate pattern carved in its lid. The secret lies within. I'm trapped. I'm kept inside the cogs.

Tim looked up. Mr Smith was still searching the book room. He pressed the latch on the watch.

The cover popped open and golden light burst from the face of the device. Something powerful resided within the watch, and he snapped it closed before it could escape. In the dark, waiting. Always waiting.

Mr Smith's footstep back in the main room startled Tim and he stuffed the watch into his pocket whilst the teacher was still considering the cover of his treasured book. "Fascinating details about the siege. Really quite remarkable," he was saying when he finally looked up at his student. He frowned. "Are you all right?"

"Yes, sir. Fine, sir." Tim worried that he didn't sound quite convincing, but Mr Smith noticed nothing at all.

"Right, then. Good. And remember, use that brain of yours." He handed Tim the book.

The image of a god filled Tim's vision. No, not a god, he realised, just a man, but a great man, both wise and capricious, both ancient and youthful, both compassionate and vengeful. A man who was hiding, not for fear but for grace. A man who looked just like Mr Smith.

Power of a Time Lord.

Tim swallowed hard to keep his composure. By now, he was used to odd truths popping into his mind, but they had never been so clear, so overwhelming. And this one had a purpose for him, though he had no idea what it might be.

Mr Smith peered at him. "You're really not looking yourself, old chap. Anything bothering you?"

"No, sir," Tim replied, a little too quickly for politeness and respect. "Thank you, sir." He bobbed a respectful bow and pushed past Mr Smith and out into the corridor.

That is a coincidence!
I love Human Nature. ( both versions- though I might need a replacement book) .
And this is wonderful. I love all the details. How you captured Tim’s thoughts & emotions.

( Btw I do not know if you follow 100ships, but somebody recently wrote a crossover with Sister of Mine and… I think Infinity Train(
