Let's play some blackjack...
Donna tapped the table between them. "Doctor!"
"Oh, all right." Rolling his eyes, he glanced at the cards in front of him and sighed. "Hit me."
She flipped a card from the deck in her hand and dropped it on his pile. "Twenty-three. Bust. You lose again." She swept his bet into the growing pile in front of her, then discarded the cards and began dealing another hand.
"Come on!" He jumped up and extended a hand to her. "There's a solar storm over Ollifera right now, northern lights over the whole planet. Well, not really northern I suppose. Southern, western, east-northeastern, all-over lights, really. But we've got to go now."
"Sit down, Spaceman!" she ordered. "We are playing blackjack. You're just salty because you're losing."
He slid back into his chair. "This is not fun."
"You're not even trying." She pointed at the discard pile. "You just hit on a fifteen. Your big space brain should know that's a bad bet."
"Doesn't matter. This game is heavily weighted toward the house no matter how you play."
"Of course it is! How do you think casinos make their money?" She laid a protective hand on her chips.
"How is this ever fun for the loser?" he whinged as he slumped back.
"Maybe you'll think about that before you force me to play wibblewots on the Planet of the Creeping Fungi."
"Pelsifer, Donna. And the game is called weblatositz."
"It's called 'bet on what color this potion turns Donna's skin'." She pulled back her long sleeve to wave her motley arm in his face. "I humoured you for three hours, so you are going to sit there and suck it up, Spaceman."
The Doctor puffed out a heavy sigh, blowing his cheeks out. "Yes, Donna."
