Write a couple of paragraphs of a scene in which one person is trying to explain how to do something in a situation where they can't directly show them. An example is a bomb specialist telling someone how to defuse a bomb over the phone. Or maybe it's a sick mother in bed telling her young son how to heat up up a meal in the microwave.
You can use this to practice describing specific actions, e.g. "You should now see a yellow wire crossing the opening. Push that aside carefully and pull up the blue wire that's just beneath it." Or you can practice writing realistic dialogue, e.g. "Right, then after that, put the... the... I don't know what it's called, the thing..." "The 'thing'?" "Yeah, you know what I mean. Put it into the box." Or a mix of both.
