I'm also using this as a Treat for someone at Season of Drabbles.  Enjoy!

Six and Charley.  Double Drabble.

"Doctor, you can't be serious!" Charley exclaimed, staring down at the small bundle of fur in the Time Lord's arms.
Their most recent expedition hadn't exactly been the best- when the Doctor mentioned a cafe, Charley was hardly expecting an...alien cat cafe. With talking cats to boot! And one had ultimately stowed away on the TARDIS.
"Charlotte, this is not just an ordinary cat" the Doctor explained.
"Well, quite." Charley replied, giving the creature a cursory pet. "Most cats I've seen aren't blue and purple spotted."

"Actually, he is a prince" the Doctor explained, "From the renowned Kingdom of Castor- Alpha. Particularly peaceful species of sentient cats. And he's rather handsome, aren't you little Prince?" the Doctor was practically cooing.
It was still amazing to Charley how good this Doctor was with cats. "But, Doctor-" she wanted to argue.  Though suddenly, the little prince blinked his eyes, looked up at Charley, and made a noise that was less a purr and more audible.  It definitely sounded like the cat had just said "mama!"
And that's what made the Edwardian girl relent. Taking the little thing in her arms, Charley stroked him gently.  " I suppose he can stay here for awhile. "

If you're a Doctor Who fan, you probably already heard that Bernard Cribbins passed away this week at the age of 93. Mr. Cribbins played Wilfred Mott, Donna Noble's grandfather who always supported her and encouraged her to chase her dreams with the Doctor, who was a father figure for the Tenth Doctor, and who eventually became his companion in his final episode. In the UK, Mr. Cribbins was much beloved for many, many things, most of which I don't know about, though I can say that he was companion to the Doctor in one of the two 1960s DW movies and was well known for Jackanory, the children's reading programme.

Let's celebrate Mr. Cribbins and Wilf today: the challenge is to write a conversation where a Wilf-like character (or Wilf himself, if you like) offers gentle wisdom or comfort to your chosen character. Bonus points if the character wears a red yarn cap.
