( can I just say, this was kind of fun to picture?)
The soft green lights flickered above them as the four travellers continued to comb the shelves.
"Perhaps it's this one" Nyssa suggested, running her hands across the spines of several books.
"We already checked there" Tegan noted, pacing a little as she flipped through pages. " I'm not even sure we're in the right section anymore. We could spend hours in here and not find a thing!"
Turlough frowned. "Frankly, I don't understand why we neccesarily had to come here in the first place. This can't be where the Doctor meant."
As if on cue, the Doctor made his way over to them. "Ah, there you all are. Any luck finding the book?"
Tegan stopped flipping through a dog-eared volume on the floor to answer. "Sorry,, not yet. Are you sure your time space gizmo put us in the right place? What if the book's just... buried under your bed in the TARDIS?"
"The temporal portable locator?" the Doctor asked, pulling what appeared to be no more than a kettle held together with bits of string and masking tape. The object seemed to beep and spark in his hands. " And I'm quite sure it isn't , Tegan. It's too important to misplace."
Nyssa pointed to a thick book with a deep red cover . "Is it this one, Doctor?" she asked.
The Doctor shook his head. "Not enough filagree on the edges. "
Tegan and Turlough sighed together, both thinking the same thing. " We're not getting out of here any time soon, are we?" the latter whispered.
