Fill- Challenge 180 ( DW/BFA)

 ( For the current word "Peregrinate" at Vocab Drabbles.  Eight and Charley , set early in their adventures) 

Charley paced back and forth in the console room, waiting for the inevitable to happen.  The noise and feeling of materialization were , at this point, beginning to grow on her; becoming slightly familiar now.  

 

"Well, Doctor, where are we?" she asked, waiting for his exhuberant answer. 

 

The Doctor leapt, bouncing like a child on the last day of school and pointing to the scanner screen.  "Look, Charley! " He exclaimed, "Look!" He pointed as a landscape of snow and puffy blue and pink clouds greeted them.  

 

Charley stared at the image.  "So where is this, then? And remember, Doctor, you're meant to be taking me to Singapore. " She reminded him gently.  

 

"Oh, I will, I will" he quickly assured her as they landed, "But it seems we're in a bit of a detour first." 

 

Charley blinked.  "Is this what's going to be normal ? All this... wandering about , aimlessly?" She was already heading for the wardrobe to find something warmer- surely there'd be some mittens or a hat. 

 

The Doctor's expression soured a little. " Well...yes.  I suppose, is it not what you were hoping for?" 

 

"No, I think it's brilliant!" she replied.  And more opportunities to add to her memoirs, at least.

 For this challenge,  think about an identity crisis. 

For example,  a character has forgotten or is not entirely sure (for whatever reason ) who he/ she is anymore.   What is the thought process like?  Does someone help them figure it out?
