"Could you at least tell me where we're going?" she'd asked that morning.
"You'll see."
That was all Jason had said as he led Mandy , her face hidden with a blindfold, to the car. What turned out to only be a fifteen-minute trip felt like forever. Mandy listened as the sounds of traffic noise and the roar of a moped careening down the street permeating through the car windows like a wave of noise. When they finally stopped, she could feel Jason guiding her by the hand. She inhaled the scent of cut grass and the unmistakable fragrance of a soon coming rainstorm. As they walked along, Mandy felt the springy texture of the grass through her sandals, and reaching out a hand, the hard wood frame of a park bench. He guided her to sit down as the birds chirped rather tunefully overhead.
