tenminutesaday (Have some Seventh Doctor introspection for your day . IN one of the VNAs (Room With No Doors I think? I haven't read it just seen it referenced/ quoted) , the Doctor sees a vision or something of dying alone and feels he deserves it. I figure that might bring up some fear in him. Set during the Prologue of the TV movie)
He is a Time Lord who knew how to have everything planned perfectly. Now is no more than the galactic version of a messenger boy.
When had it started? Ace? He'd shown her so much, cared for her like a daughter. But wasn't afraid to manipulate her. And now...she'd saved so many people, or fallen in love, or sacrificed herself for others.
There were more friends, but he always had to be the manipulator.
It scares him, deep down- knowing what's going to happen. Knowing he is meant to die alone- all his friends having left. He is Time's Champion, and it's a burden to bear. To deal with the monsters in the universe. But he wonders if he has become a monster.
And that's what makes it terrifying.
