tenminutesaday ( Went with an actual creature in enclosure- a pet waiting to be adopted)
The shelter is alive with activity this morning. Crowds of people keep filing in and out in search of pets to take home. Bex (the name she has gotten used to being called by the humans who care for her) stirs in her kennel; her fur a soft mix of grey and white. She watches in excitement as the cats who have become her friends are chosen. The excitement soon turns bittersweet in knowing that soon she will be the only one left without a family.
Two small humans- a boy in blue and green and a girl in pink , approach her kennel. The girl reaches out a hand trying to break through and pet her. Bex gives a welcoming meow at the gesture. The boy and girl are saying things Bex doesn't understand, but it sounds hopeful and enthusiastic from the sound of their voices.
Two more larger humans come closer a few minutes later. Her kennel is being moved. Could this finally be the day she's been waiting for?
