Writing a lot, keep bouncing around book two.

They sat and listened as the music played. Most of the others were listening intently, seated on the benches and chairs loosely organized in the hall, but there were a few who gathered on the floor to dance. A singer joined the instruments, starting in a low, melancholy whisper. Kallon strained to understand the words, but they all sounded foreign. He frowned and leaned over to Yurrein. "What are they singing about?" He asked quietly, not wanting to disrupt the performance, but also deeply curious.

"It's about how we came to be here." Yurrein began. "The Mothers coming together, fleeing Alast, the turmoils of the sea journey, and landing on Lunais and building all this. There's a version of the story in each Alastan language, this one is Byajintoran. Starts out a bit slow and melancholy, but it picks up, the finale is pretty spectacular."

"Thanks," Kallon sat back and listened, even if the words were unfamiliar he tried to think of the story and how it matched the progression of the music from low and subdued tones mourning what had to be left behind to the thunderous precussion that dominated the journey by sea, the singer's voice barely audible between the rumbles and clashes of the tumultuous voyage. The music calmed and then slowly built up to a riotous finale that had most everyone on their feet and dancing. It was a sight to see, some looking Human as can be, others with their markings visible and several in their natural forms moving in sync with the music and each other.
