World-building exercise! Let's visit the home (or at least home area) of a non-human character. Write a paragraph or two about that home, describing at least one thing that is very different because that character is non-human. As an example, a centaur probably doesn't sleep in a bed that's set off the floor with a flat mattress. It would probably sleep on a straw-covered floor with its legs folded beneath it, but how does it support the human part of the body? Does it just lie backwards on itself? (That sounds uncomfortable.) Or does it have a sleeping platform about chair-high, upon which it folds its arms and rests its head?
This exercise is a lot harder for humanoid non-humans. What things in a Time Lord's home would be different from the same item in a human's home? I can't even think of anything off the top of my head. Well, okay, one thing - there wouldn't be any aspirin in the medicine cabinet. (Aspirin is lethal to Time Lords.)
