(Doing a full Ten Minutes,  I've never actually written these two.  Also, this really won't leave my brain :P )

Rose watched from her bedroom window as the moon Rose. Had it already been a month? She could feel the urge to run sweep over her by the second... still hard to believe it could happen even in this universe.

Usually, she'd go out side, run it off, and could go on the next few days as if nothing had happened.  Her mum and Pete had no clue about her *time of the month.*  And she would try her best to not let The Doctor know either.

Unfortunately,  she got halfway to the door when she spied a very familiar blue jacket.  She had to move fast.

" Rose! Right, sorry I'm late.  You should see the coral- grown about five feet in a matter of days! Now,  movie? Tele? Or.."

Rose's whole body shook as she looked for a way around d him.  "I just.. need a minute" she said, panic in every word.   She looked down at her hands,  patches of blonde fur already forming.

The Doctor looked at her carefully.  " Are you all right? You seem a little... off."

"I'm fine!" She growled.  " Just need a bit of air!" If she could just get outside..

The Doctor raised a hand.  "Don't think you are. Should I get  Pete? "

Rose groaned,  no going back now.  " Do you remember when we were in Scotland? 1879?"

"Course. Queen Victoria, Royally annoyed her.  How could I forget?"   He grabbed her hand, squeezing it in an attempt to comfort her.

Rose inhaled sharply.  " What if I told you,  I've not exactly recovered from that?"

It's awesome to see you writing and working out ideas!

If you're planning to expand on this, I caution you that Rose may not be the POV character you want. Remember that werewolves are feral at best, and chaotic evil at worst, and if the werewolf is your POV, then you're going to have to write the character turning feral and evil, and their bloodthirsty thoughts as they're killing people. The werewolf in T&C explicitly talks about wanting to kill and dominate the world.

Also, it's strange here that Rose considers her lycanthropy as just "her time of the month" and is only concerned about her family finding out. When she changes, she should be roaming the country killing things (the episode says the werewolf mangles livestock and steals children), and I'd expect her to be appalled and ashamed of that. When Meta is trying to stop her, she should be panicking that if she changes in front of him, she's going to rip him apart.

Werewolves are not good things. If you want models for how good people deal with being werewolves, take a look at Lupin in Harry Potter or Mags in "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy". Their human times are spent trying to find ways to keep themselves restrained so they don't go out and murder everything (because there's typically no cure) and moping about their curse; their wolf times are blind killing sprees.

I've only skimmed that wiki page you linked, but Ruby sounds like she's entirely in control of her shapeshifting and retains her human mind while shifted, which is not like a classic werewolf (Lupin) or Mags or the werewolf that infected Rose.

Of course, you're entitled to characterize your characters however you want. I'm just making sure you understand that the werewolf - classic or DW - is neither good, cute, nor romantic.

Actually, I think that "her time of the month" is rather clever. At the beginning of the story, you're not revealing to the reader yet what the actual problem is, so implying that it's her period is a nice, coy way of saying it without giving it away. It also makes the reader wonder, why in the world would a girl in her early twenties need to tell her parents about her period, and why, if she does need to, is she so hesitant to broach the topic? You're keeping the reader in the dark for just a little longer, because Rose wants to keep everyone in the dark as well.
