(Doing a full Ten Minutes,  I've never actually written these two.  Also, this really won't leave my brain :P )

Rose watched from her bedroom window as the moon Rose. Had it already been a month? She could feel the urge to run sweep over her by the second... still hard to believe it could happen even in this universe.

Usually, she'd go out side, run it off, and could go on the next few days as if nothing had happened.  Her mum and Pete had no clue about her *time of the month.*  And she would try her best to not let The Doctor know either.

Unfortunately,  she got halfway to the door when she spied a very familiar blue jacket.  She had to move fast.

" Rose! Right, sorry I'm late.  You should see the coral- grown about five feet in a matter of days! Now,  movie? Tele? Or.."

Rose's whole body shook as she looked for a way around d him.  "I just.. need a minute" she said, panic in every word.   She looked down at her hands,  patches of blonde fur already forming.

The Doctor looked at her carefully.  " Are you all right? You seem a little... off."

"I'm fine!" She growled.  " Just need a bit of air!" If she could just get outside..

The Doctor raised a hand.  "Don't think you are. Should I get  Pete? "

Rose groaned,  no going back now.  " Do you remember when we were in Scotland? 1879?"

"Course. Queen Victoria, Royally annoyed her.  How could I forget?"   He grabbed her hand, squeezing it in an attempt to comfort her.

Rose inhaled sharply.  " What if I told you,  I've not exactly recovered from that?"

Actually, I think that "her time of the month" is rather clever. At the beginning of the story, you're not revealing to the reader yet what the actual problem is, so implying that it's her period is a nice, coy way of saying it without giving it away. It also makes the reader wonder, why in the world would a girl in her early twenties need to tell her parents about her period, and why, if she does need to, is she so hesitant to broach the topic? You're keeping the reader in the dark for just a little longer, because Rose wants to keep everyone in the dark as well.
